I enjoy a good crime novel and I really enjoy a good psychological thriller, this is the best of both. I haven’t read the previous 2 books in the series, but I was able to delve right in to this one and read all about every mother’s worse nightmare a threat to your child! I remember very well my young son being out of my sight and not where I expected him to be for 10 minutes and my world was collapsing around me. He then rode up on his bike and life was ok again. But I cannot imagine if I thought everything and everyone was changing how I would react. That makes this book so much more intense, it’s a situation that there but for the grace of God we do not encounter! This novel had me on the edge of my seat, sometimes gripping the arms of my seat with my Kindle balanced on my lap! This book is intense and it’s brilliant, a must read if this is anywhere near your genre! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Mike can catch the commuter train just blocks from their home, while Holly takes pregnancy leave and settles in with their new baby. But maybe their perfect neighborhood isn’t all that perfect. Neighbors make snarky digs about her morals. Her phone begins to get disturbing “dick pics.†She knows she’s being stalked, and someone starts vandalizing her home. She suspects some neighbors have violent, sinister secrets and, even worse, she suspects Mike may not be the perfect, faithful husband. Holly spirals into deeper despair and fear. How can she defend herself when nobody believes her? The tension ratchets up and the reader knows what’s really happening to Holly. Violence explodes, and it’s not the end.I received this book as a free ARC and, honestly, I couldn’t put but down. I read until 4 AM my first session, then finished it over breakfast. You’ll hold your breath, your heart will pound, and you’ll be compelled to see how this great thriller ends!
I received an ARC for this book. Holly is a coroner and her husband is an attorney looking to make partner in his firm. When she becomes pregnant, she convinces her husband to move out of the city and buy a house. She and her infant, Claire, spend most of their time alone since her husband is working long hours. She likes the neighborhood and begins to make friends with the other mothers. Suddenly, she starts experiencing problems. She goes into the house and discovers that things have been moved. When she calls the police, they can find no evidence of a breakin. Her husband returns home and appears to be concerned. The women in the neighborhood begin to avoid her and refuse to talk to her. This has her very confused. She begins to suspect that she is being stalked. From her work, she is friendly with detectives in the city and one of them has now lives in her new neighborhood. These two are the only ones that believe her. Things keep happening and she knows that she must protect herself and her daughter. The story has many twists and turns and I could not put the book down. I finished it in one sitting. I would recommend this to everyone that enjoys thrillers.
