Reads like a vacation brochure. The descriptions are very surfacy. Never will you get a glimpse into how or why any breakthroughs might happen. This is just a flashy marketing booklet no one should pay money for. There is a book called Sprint that was written by a google employee that goes into the exact how to.
The author's work always has some useful new way to think about productivity: whether it's analyzing another method or introducing his own.
I am only familiar with MESA from online reading, but it very much aligns with my view on the future of work. Multi-discipline, sprint oriented. I look forward to reading more in the book and updating my review with more information!
I have been following Tiago for a while and am currently 1/4 through his Building a Second Brain online course - and it’s already having a big impact. So I’m a fan. This quick read was certainly worth the time. It’s a good introduction to the Mesa method, raising important questions and challenging conventional wisdom. The author has been there and done it, so his personal reflexions shine through.
I love reading about new ways of solving increasingly complex problems, and The Mesa Method is certainly a significant contribution to this endeavour. A well written book elegantly describing a ground-breaking approach to shaping group dynamics to solve a problem or simply discover a better way.
Besides the good structure, this method uses great principles that helps to deal with the team, individuals and the relationships during the sprint meetings.
Tiago's work is always thoughtful, clear and packed with value!
